Yesterday Mike and I were discussing what kind of movie we would make if we could. My idea was to make an “ATTACK OF THE OCTOPI” campy horror B-movie. Now, seeing this image on my dashboard, I think this would make for the perfect still from it.

I gave in and installed a theme from the theme garden. While I dislike using a pre-made design when I am supposed to be a design student, I do like all the futura type.

Hopefully a unique design is in the works. But maybe I should focus on websites that I’m getting paid for? naahhh.

“In Kamloops I’ll eat your boots”

After reading Alligator Pie a dozen or so times in the past few weeks to the kiddies, I must admit that it is one of my new favourite books. Frank Newfeld’s illustrations are enchanting and Dennis Lee’s absurd yet truly Canadian poems are so much fun to read. Plus it gets the kids to sleep (I’m a nanny, have I mentioned?) so what’s not to like.

Currently on the search for a good used copy of this book.

I forgot to bring my camera last night so I’m happy to see there are people who not only take great concert pics, but are also organized enough to have them uploaded to flickr the day after (so unlike myself).

Anyway, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros was one of my favourite concerts of 2009, especially at the moment this picture was taken when everybody got on stage, sat down and sang “Brother”. (There’s a good chance that that’s my hand on the left).

Accomplishment of the Day: organizing bookshelf by colour.

Not only does this look oh-so-pretty, but also drives the boyfriend crazy (he previously insisted on arranging the books in alphabetical order by author’s name, then chronological order by release)
